About this listen
'Non-stop action, breakneck pace, deliciously suspenseful… When Shadows Fall was my first DS Max Craigie book and won’t be my last – I loved it.' Andrea Mara
'A good old police procedural… I was pleasantly terrified' The Guardian
'Bone-chilling and full of so many twists' The Sun
A TRAGIC DEATH
When the body of Leanne Wilson is found at the bottom of a Scottish mountain, it is classified as a tragic accident. There is no evidence to suggest otherwise.
A RISING BODY COUNT
Then DS Max Craigie discovers that five other women in the last year have died by falling off mountains, and something feels very wrong. They were all experienced climbers and alone when they died. This can only mean one thing: there’s a killer on the loose.
A KILLER IN THE SHADOWS
The more Max investigates, the more he believes that they are dealing with something much bigger than a lone serial killer. With five victims and conflicting clues, how do you catch someone committing the perfect crime?

Absolutely brilliant read again
Neil Lancaster your books just get better and better. Just when I think your books are so brilliant yoo can't beat the original themes of each latest book you do, every single book. Now I can't wait for the next book with the teaser

Engaging story marred by too much bad language
I enjoyed the engaging story that kept me listening helped by the exellent narrator. I got weary of Detective Ross whose every sentecne is peppered with the F word and other expletives. I guess it's realistic and that there are some foul-mouthed policemen but when the action is condensed into a book it becomes annoying. Overall a competent police procedural that's worth a lsiten.

Well-loved characters take you on another thrilling case!
I pre-ordered this title and devoured it on its arrival. A twist-turning and clever story, brilliantly narrated by Angus King. It's like meeting up with your best mates and picking up where you left off. Already looking forward to Neil's next book!
Highly recommend!

THE MOST EXCITING OF THRILLERS
This is the best book I have listened to in my library of hundreds of books. From the first few moments this book had me glued to every word. This is the first book I couldn't 'put down' - I was so disappointed to get to the end and realize it will be hard to find such an exciting book to replace it and of course read by Angus King. If you a looking for a good thriller - THIS IN THE ONE!

fabulous as usual
the only thing i dislike, aside from there not being the next book to jump into right away, was Max's wife being needy and annoying- i wish she hadn't been written like that. the rest of the time, the writing is excellent and the plot moves at quite a pace. Ross' colourful language is always entertaining, and I like the rest of the main characters more and more with each book.
I hope you are writing the next one double time, Mr Lancaster!

Fast Pace great listen
Nothing to dislike, when you combine a great author with perhaps the greatest reader of crime books there is, you are bound to have a cracking listen.
