About this listen
The sequel to Lynda La Plante's groundbreaking thriller, Widows - now a major feature film.
Dolly, Linda, Shirley and Bella are back. And this time it's a fight to the finish.
Against all the odds, Dolly Rawlins and her gangland widows managed the impossible: a heist their husbands had failed to pull off - at the cost of their lives.
But though they may be in the money, they're far from easy street.
Shocked by her husband's betrayal, Dolly discovers Harry Rawlins isn't dead. He knows where the four women are and he wants them to pay. And he doesn't just mean getting his hands on the money.
The women can't keep running. They have to get Harry out of their lives for good. But can they outwit a criminal mastermind who won't hesitate to kill?
Especially when one of them has a plan of her own...to kill or be killed.

After reading so many negative reviews on the narration of the first book, I actually didn’t enjoy this one as much . Although clearer the readers voice was too posh for Dolly. She was an east ender and would not have spoken in a posh voice. Spoilt it for me. Story was not so gripping either. But a good read nevertheless.

Another Gem
Such a good book, I get totally engrossed in Lynda La'Plante's books. You just cannot stop listening. Narrated extremely well by the brilliant actress who actually played Dolly Rawlings.

Brilliant
This book kept me enthralled to the very last page. I wanted to listen to it for many hours while knitting stuff. Multitasking? Can’t beat it. Exiting story a lot of swearing, no need for language like that, but all books these days have swearing. I really enjoyed this book, a bit gruesom towards the end but he dserved it.

Squirmingly good yarn
This is the type of story that you get completely engrossed in, worrying about the characters between listens. At one time I couldn’t continue because I wanted to prevent them ......!
Highly recommended.

Can't fault Ms La Plante
Writing storyline are great. But I much preferred Ann Mitchell's narration to Amanda Donohoe. If she had done the narration originally I probably would have enjoyed both. But having heard Ms Mitchell and seen her act in the tv drama I could not put the image aside. Her whole character is based on Ann Mitchell in my opinion.
The widows voices were rather irritating in this book too. Still going to listen to the third book, yet a different narrator! We'll see!
