About this listen
I'm Paxton Wilder - motocross phenom & adrenaline junkie. I have more tattoos than scars. And I've never seen a stunt I couldn't pull off - or a girl I can't get off. Until she walks in. My new tutor is sexy, smart, more stubborn than I am, and 100 percent off limits.
That's right - the only rule this semester is "Don't Touch the Tutor". For the first time in my life, I want someone I can't have. She's the girl who obeys every rule. I'm the guy who breaks them. Our biggest risk is falling for each other, but I live for risk...
Each book in the Renegades series is a standalone, full-length story that can be enjoyed out of order. Series Order:
- Wilder
- Nova
The story weaves its way around the relationship between Rachel and Pax (shock horror they become involved) the fact that someone seems out to sabotage the documentary by injuring/killing Pax and/or Leah, and the insistence from Pax that Leah moves out of her comfort zone, whilst he does very little to change his life to accommodate her. There are twists and turns along the way, including the sabotage, which always seems to land at Leah’s door.
I find Pax self absorbed, overly privileged, arrogant and self centred. I find Leah weak, far too easily manipulated, and far too insecure to be interesting. Their relationship is too sickly sweet for my liking (think I like my book relationships to be a bit toxic which drama and angst) . The whole “college in a cruise liner” is eye rollingly trite and most of the time pointless.
I did find some of the story interesting, mostly who the saboteur might have been, and I liked the other two Renegades Penelope and Lander, so I may splash out on the other books in the series.
Christian Fox did a superb job, should be declared a national treasure at this point, but I found Lauren Sweet a bit whiney.
Too cheesy for me!
