Over 1 million Discworld audiobooks sold – discover the extraordinary universe of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld like never before

The audiobook of Wyrd Sisters is narrated by Indira Varma (Game of Thrones; Luther; This Way Up). BAFTA and Golden Globe award-winning actor Bill Nighy (Love Actually; Pirates of the Caribbean; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) reads the footnotes, and Peter Serafinowicz (Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace; Shaun of the Dead) stars as the voice of Death. Featuring a new theme tune composed by James Hannigan.

'Destiny is important, see, but people go wrong when they think it controls them. It's the other way around.'

Three witches gathered on a lonely heath. A king cruelly murdered, his throne usurped by his ambitious cousin. A child heir and the royal crown, both missing.

Witches don't have these kinds of leadership problems themselves - in fact, they don't have leaders.

Granny Weatherwax is the most highly regarded of the leaders they don't have. But even she finds that meddling in royal politics is a lot more complicated than certain playwrights would have you believe. Particularly when the blood on your hands just won't wash off...

With an afterword by Joanne Harris.

'Pratchett's Discworld books have made millions of people happy' Guardian

'I love Terry Pratchett' Caitlin Moran

Wyrd Sisters is the second book in the Witches series, but you can listen to the Discworld novels in any order.

The first book in the Discworld series - The Colour of Magic - was published in 1983. Some elements of the Discworld universe may reflect this.

The new Varma performances of Pratchett’s Witches series are first class and do his works great credit. It’s wonderful finally to have a female voice bringing ALL the characters of Lancre to life. Indira Varma is extremely talented. And Terry Pratchett is… sorely missed. No superlative does him justice.

Excellent performance of a literary genius.

Indira has made fabulous new recordings of the Witches books, but I knock one point off for her Granny Weatherwax. I don't know why she's chosen to perform her as the least charismatic of the 3 witches. It's the only respect in which Nigel Planer did it better.

Shame she decided to prounounce "Hwell" the playwright as "Hoo-El", thus removing the pun.

Great fun

This has always been my favourite Discworld novel. It is performed so well. Excellent. Heartily recommend!

The best one

I have all Discworld collection, and I couldn't stand Celia Imrie's version. With all respect for her as an actress, her narration is really bad. Indira Varma is a decent narrator, but Nigel Planer did an awesome job just as well. I have to say, his Nanny is unbeatable.

Never boring

I know the story well, so I can say that the narrator did it justice. Thank you.

My first time listening to a story. Now, not my last.

Terry Pratchett the most amazing author ever, there is no book that can top any Discworld novel.

could listen to this all day

The only fault I have with this reading, is that no one gets either Nanny’s or Grannie’s voices quite right, but there again, the voices in your head are alway in glorious technicolour :-()

Love the way the footnotes are handled, and Bill Nighy is perfect.

Much happier with this version.

what can you say about such a lovingly crafted telling of Pterry? it's perfect! indira varma has such talent and paired with the wit of Pterry, I am again charmed by his take on The Scottish Play. Granny weatherwax can headology me anytime!

Shakespeare who?
