Captain Galvin Quintos, along with the love of his life, XO Gail Pristy, thought retirement meant a fresh start together within the Colorado wilderness—not being pulled into the latest galactic conspiracy by EUNF High Command. Eli continues his adventures in Lurra, lost once again after Fluxi's gateway dropped him in the middle of some unknown settlement, far from his friends. At the same time, the Association has begun to step out from the shadows, revealing their horrifying intentions for this world as they manipulate the Remnant's forces into launching a fresh invasion on the Pantheon Alliance.

Human history mirrors the history of climate change. Human origins, for example, can be traced to five million years ago when the climate of East Africa became progressively hotter and drier. This caused the lush tropical jungles to disappear and be replaced by arid plains and savannahs. Our pre-human ancestors learned to exploit those new ecosystems by gathering the seed-bearing grasses, nuts, and tubers that thrived in these semi-arid conditions. Also, by foraging in the heat of the day, proto-humans could minimize unwelcome contact with nocturnal predators.
