About this listen

When an industrial spy steals a Xenomorph egg, former Colonial Marine Zula Hendricks must prevent an alien from killing everyone on an isolated colony planet.

Venture, a direct rival to the Weyland-Yutani corporation, will accept any risk to crush the competition. Thus, when a corporate spy "acquires" a bizarre, leathery egg from a hijacked vessel, she takes it directly to the Venture testing facility on Jericho 3.

Though unaware of the danger it poses, the scientists there recognize their prize's immeasurable value. Early tests reveal little, however, and they come to an inevitable conclusion. They need a human test subject....

Enter Zula Hendricks.

A member of the Jericho 3 security staff, Colonial Marines veteran Zula Hendricks has been tasked with training personnel to deal with anything the treacherous planet can throw their way. Yet nothing can prepare them for the horror that appears - a creature more hideous than any Zula has encountered before.

Unless stopped, it will kill every human being on the planet.

Story is minimal, prose lacks description but still hits those nostalgic spots for the die hard Xeno fan.

Narration is good but lacks depth for some characters, voices created are rather similar.

But a nice way to pass time on the dull commutes to and from work

It’s ok.....

An excellent story brilliantly narrated, a great addition to the Alien story left with an open ended line for a follow on

A good gripping story

Spoilers... we are back to the premise of just the one Alien picking people off, but this this infected with an extremely dangerous disease. The tension ramps up in places but you just know that most of the soldiers are going to get killed off before they bring down the creature. Of course there has to be a little twist at the end. The performance was good but I tend to listen at higher speed as I have a lot of books to get through. Not the first Alien book I have done and it certainly won't be the last.

Another Alien story that shows people never learn.

The introduction of new dimensions to the alien's tactics and life cycle made this really interesting! Classic Alien setting, but with something fresh. Great reading and a great book.

An original twist on a loved universe

A good story, but didn't need the disease aspect to the Alien. Still enjoyed it though.

Didn't need the disease

There are many factors that make is absolutely fantastic;
The story itself is refreshing, a new take on the xenomorph we've all come to fear in this sci-fi horror genre and the opportunity to peer into the perspective of so many characters that proved to be hugely influential to the developing plot was very engaging.
What I thoroughly enjoyed above all else was Zula Hendricks, her no nonsense approach and especially the long awaited continuation to her journey from the Defiance saga.

Some things never change though; Greed, over-zealous ambitions and rampant underestimation, which unsurprisingly leads to lethal consequences.
These are not negatives however, to a steadfast fan of the franchise, I am already aware of the impending disaster but I never tire of finding out how it will happen, what will be the cost and who, if anyone, will make it out alive.

**Spoiler**
My only big issue was Tamar. Felt like a far-fetched conclusion for a once intelligent character. She knocked out a tooth and then just grabbed it?? She could and would never.

Zula Hendricks is a breath of fresh air!

The narrator is the best female one I heated, her voices are great and her male characters are really good. The story's great with a brand new xeno (necromorph) to fight. Can't give it 5 as it went too generic at the end for me but overall really enjoyed.

A new kind of Xenomorph

When a scientist intent on human and alien experiments inadvertently uses a space station employee previously used to test a deadly skin disease to later play host to an alien egg, the resulting creature has a deadly disease added to its arsenal.

Different to the other Alien series, but definitely worth a listen. Great narration!
Good story .

A great addition to the series

It's not Alien, or Aliens but is a good story. Good to hear a female narrator in sci-fi for a great time.

Tense filled story
