About this listen
Don't miss the final instalment in the Dales Detective series!
'A rollicking tale of everyday crime life among rural folk' - Daily Mail
From death to danger and malice to mystery, Samson and Delilah have weathered many storms. Finally, things should be going smoothly. Except life’s never that simple in Bruncliffe, is it?
As the couple are beset with worries about their upcoming wedding, a charismatic celebrity comes knocking on the Dales Detective Agency’s door, seeking their services. Samson is initially reluctant to help, for many reasons. But things quickly escalate following a shocking murder at Fellside Court and, as a friend comes under suspicion, Samson and Delilah must set aside their personal problems to catch a killer.
In a case that will bring so many of Bruncliffe’s secrets out into the open, this final investigation for the Dales Detectives may be the one that breaks them for ever . . .
Date with Destiny is the final instalment in Julia Chapman's much-loved Dales Detective series set in Yorkshire.

What a fantastic finish to an incredible series ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I was eagerly awaiting the release of this book, while also knowing it would be bittersweet, being the last in the series, but I completely understand that Julia will be excited to write all of the other stories that must be percolating within her amazing mind.
This book was every bit as wonderful as all of the previous 9 have been, with lots of humour and excitement for the residents of Bruncliffe, plus plenty of clever plot twists and red herrings.
The ending of the book and series was handled wonderfully and made me tear up plenty, but with a huge smile on my face nonetheless. Julia's writing and Elizabeth's fantastic narration have been an absolute dream team and I can only hope they are back together for a future series of amazing books.

Magnificent!
I have thoroughly enjoyed this last book in the series. I've laughed and cried, clapping in joy, making a fist in anger. it's been an absolute delight to journey with Samson, Delilah et al. An absolute must listen.

Love the characters
I have loved every book in this series. The narrator is excellent (her name escapes me and it shouldn’t, she really is a talent) . She manages to differentiate all the characters and bring them all to life with their own little quirks. Of course that is also clever writing.
I would highly recommend these books, they are easy listening and very Moorish.

Farewell Bruncliffe.
Such a loss with this being the final contact with Bruncliffe. I've fallen in love with this area of the Dale's and its people. This last book does not disappoint, although I confess that it didn't take long to solve the plot! Even so Samson & Delilah came up trumps. Five stars
