Summary

Here are all six episodes of the BBC Radio 4 sitcom written by and starring Ben Willbond and Justin Edwards about two incompetent science teachers who work at a college that specialises in drama, and whose world is turned upside down by the arrival of a new boss.

Forresters Sixth Form College has a highly successful drama department run by the odious Danny Woods. For years, the science department was a forgotten and neglected area where Colin and Kenneth could brew their own ales in peace and quiet. Kenneth even devised a self-assessment system where one class taught itself. Then Dr Oates, the head of department, died from a massive coronary - probably induced by a butter chicken-laden diet. Alison Hatton, his replacement, is keen and wants to bring in new students. Nothing will be the same again.

Stars Ben Willbond as Colin, Justin Edwards as Kenneth, Raza Jaffery as Danny and Rebecca Front as Alison.

Surreal, quirky and brilliant!

This is wonderfully quirky humour!

If you like comedies like "The IT Crowd" or "Deep Trouble", full of odd but recognisable characters, struggling in a world of "normal", you will enjoy "Double Science". Much of the humour is in the surreal situations the characters get themselves into, such as building a massive rocket named "Gavin Esler" (as the scariest thing they could think of), to sabotage the drama department.

I bought this after hearing just one episode on Radio 4xtra and laughed a lot over these 6 episodes. I do hope very much there is another series.

Very Good - Why no more?

Very well written and performed. Just a pity they didn't make any more. The episode "Real Ale' was a true classic.

Joyous

A microcosm of dysfunctional humans that is wonderfully funny and worth several listens. Be warned you may get a hankering for real ale and curry feasts!

Very amusing

Not as good as The Castle but better than Bleak Expectations. Love this Genre. However, no-one can beat The Penny Dreadfuls. They are still the masters of Radio 4 comedy. I recommend Double Science, a pleasant couple of hours.

I Have Only One Question

Why was there only one series written. This has to be one of the best radio programmes I have listened too. A great piece of writing by Ben Willbond, Justin Edwards just so funny and great characters.

More Radio 4 genius

I so wish there was more of this kind of comedy available, brilliantly written and sharply observed it's really very good.

I'll never be able to hear lady in Red again in quite the same light.

Superb

Just sit back and enjoy this comedic masterpiece. it's characters are so funny and bizarre but work so well. Beautifully portrayed characters, you won't stop smiling or quoting them. Fantastic.

Well worth it

Brilliant show and another example of the BBC failing to recognise a great series .
