About this listen

The galaxy burns at Horus' command, and a billion more lives are lost with each passing moment - though it was not always so. Once, the title of Warmaster stood for honour, loyalty and a fierce pride in the strength of the Space Marine Legions. But perhaps by following the myriad lines of destiny and defiance that were already woven around the primarchs and their sons, we may yet come to understand the bitterness that can eat away at even the most steadfast of souls....

Good selection of legions

There are moments in this for multiple legions including White Scar, Iron Warriors, Ultramarine, Imperial Fist, Blood Angeles, Word Bearers and Night Lord's, including a cool short story about Sevitar

Good backstories

The first couple of stories are good and have purpose, but also later comes "Red Marked" and a couple others, which are worth a listen.

da ja vu

was a ok book but felt I had heard some of the stories before. then I releized most of them have been retold in audio dramas, i would recommend listen to the audio dramas first as they are a lot more gripping and more fun to listen to.

One of the better anthologies

For once actually some relevant short stories. Many are like always skippable but a few stand out. Narration is ok - but No Keeble

Not bad for short stories but not all was good

I loved The Wolf of Ash and Fire 🔥 some parts of it elevated the experince of the story also hearing Toby Longworth again was great. Also loved Aurelian. In the lore we didn't see exactly the journey logar toke that set the ground for the heresy plots this short story and explained more about it and more

So more shorts.....

....a couple that are decent, several that are quite skippable. But that will depend on you fluff preferences. Far from an essential read and very missable if you wish to get on with the Heresy. As always the narrators and performances are excellent (5 stars).....but they can only drag up the more mediocre stories so far. One for completests only.
