About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
The TikTok fantasy sensation that's sold over half a million copies, perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas and Jennifer L. Armentrout.
'I don't choose him. Not anymore. I'm choosing me.'
I was told that being confined was to keep the bad out.... Until I realised it was about keeping me in.
Midas made me forbidden and weak. Little did he know that I would find my wings and voice—which sings now.
After living amongst the terrifying army of Fourth Kingdom, I find myself, once again, in strange lands and a kingdom surrounded by liars.
But something has ignited within me. Something dark. Something angry.
Then comes King Ravinger.
And the last thing I wanted was my heart to be torn.
Can I really fall in love when the cities around me threaten to crumble and my fate hangs in the balance?
One thing is for sure, I won't be caught in a cage again.
No, this time, it'll be me setting the trap.

Great story but awful narration
Great book but the change in the voices is annoying and slades voice is awful, reminds me of a one eyed pirate.

Best book so far
Really pleased that the story picked up. The 1st couple of books were really frustrating, so happy to see the story started to get better.

Enjoying the series, but…
Áurea is growing on me as a character, loving both sides of slade. As for listening to it on Audible, I’m in two minds to carry on or to start reading the books. I’ve enjoyed Bella Sanbys narration, except for her interpretation of Ravinger. It is absolutely awful!! I spend so much of the time cringing whenever she narrated his words, I’m not sure I can continue with it. I’d rather she just said his stuff in her normal voice then listening to a women with a really bad case of laryngitis. Come on producers, you can do better than this!

Good book, alright narrator, bad audio levels
Sounds like no one bothered to balance the audio levels of each line, one moment you’re turning it up to hear a whisper and next your ears hurt from a shout. Makes it sound cheap. But a great plot, good writing & the male reader is very good, not keen on the feminine voice - but she wasn’t helped by the audio levels.

Pure gold...
A Midas retelling that continued from book 2 Glint. Gleam is riveting, thrilling and exciting.
Auren is back with King Midas. His mechanisms are unknown to Auren and she's to naive with her safety. However Auren and Slade's slow burn romance turn into an inferno. Swoonworthy declarations between the two.
Bella Sanby captures the listener and keeps them. The vulnerability and pain is felt in her voice and experienced by the listener. Harlan Corvo is engaging as MMC's voices, however at some point there was a slight struggle to distinguishing between voices. He still did a great job. Editing was slightly off with volume chances sporadically but it did not interfere with overall enjoyment. Please check triggers with author as their are few.

Just amazing.
There were moments I were shouting at her… just tell them… tell everyone!! It made me a little mad, but this story is outstanding! I am really eager to listen to the next instalment! The readers did a marvellous job!

Change of Narrator
Such a shame that they changed the female narrator for the third book. The narrators voice just doesn’t match the characters. Wish they had kept with the original narrator. I’ve really struggled to enjoy this one because of it. Story is excellent but Gleam on audiobook is marred due to the narrator ☹️

Great story, meh narrator
loving the series and storyline, however the narrators impression of rip is very gcse drama as I can see others have also noticed however less nasally than in previous books.
