Summary

'Light or dark, only one can win. This world cannot survive in shades of grey.'

Now that Aven Dalmarta sits upon the throne of Meya, Alex must race against the clock to save the rest of Medora from the Rebel Prince’s wrath.

Haunted by an unspeakable vision of the future, Alex and her friends set out to warn the mortal races. But making allies out of ancient enemies proves difficult.

With her nights spent deep in the Library under the guidance of a mysterious new mentor, Alex is desperate to strengthen her gift and keep all those she loves safe. Because in a world where nothing is certain, she is sure of only one thing: Aven is coming.

Really good!

This one more than the others had me crying in places! The friendships are so nice to follow and I’m looking forward to the relationships developing in the next ones, I’m really hoping there won’t be a hideous twist for Alex in hers though!

A Light Tale Gets Deeper

This tale that stared in book 1as a lighthearted young girls travels to a new academic world. Seems to have gotten darker and more real with every book, Chapter and verse. I am thoroughly enjoying turning the pages and traveling the Valispath along with Alex.

Unfortunately, the story has lost its way

This has been a good series until now. However, the only way to enjoy this book, is to completely disregard the character's age.
It is unbelievable tho accept that a 16 yr old could have the maturity to converse in such ways with senior figures, to understand adult complexities and handle herself in the way she does in many of the situations she finds herself in. Yet she still acts with immaturity when it comes to anyone being attracted to her. By the end of the story (a few months later) she is suddenly almost 18. Her actions/interractions speak more like she is nearer 30.

Also frustrating is the interaction between her and the males close to her. It comes across as if she is having blossoming relationships with at least three of them when she isn't. It was very misleading and inconsistent.

If you can suspend belief whilst listening, it makes it a much better listen. I will continue with the series, though the story is getting rather protracted, but in my mind Alexandra is somewhere in her twenties with an extremely naive attitude to dealing with men.
