Another great addition to the series!
This latest outing, whilst again expertly narrated and written, felt a little more low key than its predecessor. This is in no way a complaint and the story serves both to introduce new characters into the mix while dealing with the fallout from the last book.
The pacing moves along steadily and I would have liked to see a little more into the mind and history of the antagonist. I feel we are slowly building to a confrontation between the brothers that is going to be epic and can’t wait to see what happens next.

Absolutely Cracking
This is such an excellent book in the DI Simon Wise series by Michael Dylan.
Good story and of course the continuing anxiety about his brother - proper ‘omg’ moments and even biting my lip - especially at the end.
I am impatient for book 5 of course, and really hoping that his stupid DCI boss gets head butted & booted out.
Excellently narrated by Colin Mace.
Highly recommend this series.

Fantastic series - superbly narrated!
I came across this series accidentally, but have now listened to all four books, narrated by the brilliant Colin Mace. I was delighted to receive an email from Michael Dylan’s website, attaching the prequel to the series, which was also excellent and set up Simon Wise’s back story. (I wondered if the character of ‘Cameron Mace’, in charge of the safe house, was a nod to the narrator of the audiobooks?) Into The River Dead was another excellent story and has left so many unanswered questions and such a cliffhanger, that I cannot wait for book 5!

Performance strong as with the other books.
Shorter than previous novels. Some plot holes. No explanation for the crime, seemed to be a rushed ending
