About this listen
Welcome to the astounding world of Predator Cities!
Emerging from its hiding place in the hills, the great Traction City is chasing a terrified little town across the wastelands. Soon, London will feed.
In the attack, Tom Natsworthy is flung from the speeding city with a murderous scar-faced girl. They must run for their lives through the wreckage - and face a terrifying new weapon that threatens the future of the world.

Narrater aided the belief in the characters.
A well told story made real by the narrater, making this alternate future world come to life.
I wish the author had expanded on the functions of the gut and reclamation of the prey however an enjoyable story and I am looking forward to.the next book.

Fabulous narration and story.
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this. The narrator is wonderful and really brought the story to life. After listening to this I can see me wanting to also read the books. It has left me wanting to know more and I am looking forward to listening to the rest of the books in the series.

Enjoyable story
Reeve knows how to tell a good tale. I really enjoyed the story and I loved all the characters, it's written for young people so it's got a simpler feel but that doesn't stop it from being enjoyable. Great narration too.

Mortal Engines book one
I love it Barnaby Edwards is a really good story teller and is an inspiration to young children who want to be a story teller when they are older. He has lots of expressions and does a different voice to each character that really makes the book feel alive I would rate it four and a half stars
From i love mortal engines

More in the Book than the Film (as always)
I was a little uncertain when I first started listening... it’s such a difference concept but there’s allot to this new world Philip Reeve has created. I’ve since bought and listed to all 4 books in turn. They are well worth a go after all you have to ask why did the director of lord of the rings decide to turn the book into a film...? Because it’s excellent!

First audio book!
I have to say Barnaby really immersed me in the story, I loved the movie so I wanted to read the book but with busy life I never have time so I would listen to it in the lab. Definitely a good book and good narrator can’t wait to listen to books 2, 3, and 4.

Nostalgia
I read this book as a young teen and loved it! It's been a good source of nostalgia listening to this audio dramatised version of the book a few months before the movie comes out!! Love it
