Over all really great story. Nice to come across something little bit different. There is a romance, adventure and really interesting strong female character. I did like the development of both main characters too. Definitely recommend this book

The narrator did an excellent job bringing the story to life, I was very impressed by the storyline and the character development , an amazing well rounded read.

A very enjoyable story and well narrated, couldn't put it down till end. Clever and witty.

For me the lead characters were a bit two dimensional and I didn't really like or sympathize with them until the last chapters. The narrators choice of voice for the leading lady I found a bit ridiculous at first, but it did suit her character which I found irritating and cringe worthy at times .

The narrator is excellent but the story is just too farfetched. The author's normal wit and frolic fall flat in this book.

Sadly this is not one of this author's better efforts.
The whole thing has an unreal and anachronistic feel to it. Lady Alice is too independent, given her circumstances and upbringing. The story lacks credibility and the world building doesn't quite work.
Having said that it is an easy book to while away a few hours with. and it is not the worst book of this type, I just think there are better ones.
