About this listen
Sex crimes Detective Aiden Carlisle is slowly getting used to being in a committed relationship with Dawn Kinsley - a relationship that isn't always easy since Dawn is not only a psychologist but also a former victim in one of Aiden's cases. Aiden's private and professional lives collide when Dawn's newest patient gets in trouble with the law. Will she be able to stay objective enough to solve the case without pushing Dawn away?
The same case also throws Deputy District Attorney Kade Matheson's well-ordered life into chaos. In the last few years, Kade has taken case files and law books, not lovers, to bed. She has been focused on her career, but now the case forces her to finally face her attraction to women. She suddenly finds herself with two secret admirers, but which one is more dangerous - the threat to her life or to her heart?
Contains mature themes.

Great package
I enjoyed this sequel (and novella) as much as the original and I’m now going on to more of Jae’s books as if they are as good as this I’m going to love them.
The characters are developed in a way that makes you care and there are some lovely laugh out loud moments mixed in with the mystery and romance - this is a great package of all my favourites.

Another good one from Jae
Jae's good storytelling was spoiled, for me, by the unfinished ending which would only work at the end of a middling episode in a drama series. It seems as though Jae has decided not to write more in this series of books and has tried to put that abrupt ending right by adding a short story to the end of the book. It does make it better but it is still not a great ending.
I often find Abby Craden brings too much melodrama and/or salacious innuendo to her narration but she is perfect here.

Brilliant storyline
Great second book with these characters....I hope Jae writes a third book! Really well narrated.
Jae is an expert at telling a story of a slow burn!

Really good....
Really good listen, quite sad/horrific in parts but the thread of loyalty, determination and love makes up for it. The 'good guys', are decent, hardworking people. The SAD team are dedicated and serious when they need to be, funny and loyal at other times.
I especially like that the author had wove the two MC's from the first book into this and we get to find out how 'they end up' (no weak epilogues thank goodness)
Kade and Del continue this saffic drama to good effect, with a good storyline.
The 'third' and final book in the series a short story really is included.
I appreciate that Jae is in touch with her audience's need for complete storylines by threading her characters into sequels, so we get to know how the characters fair down the line (Jae had done this with other 'series')!
AC is not usually my 'go to' narrator but she gets it right in these books (probably because Aiden is a soft butch character and AC's 2nd MC always has a butch vibe regardless of the description)
The series is in the plus catalogue so win win !

Great characters, real humour and fantastic performance
Abby Craden is a fabulous narrator. A great range of voices from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. My favourite characters are Del and Cady! I love the imaginative way the author has woven together the stalking and Del’s growing affection. But the whole book, it’s pace is perfect for me- and what a lovely surprise - a novella as an encore!

Brilliant book
This is the second book in the series, and I was really looking forward to carrying on the story as I really enjoyed the first book. It’s a brilliant book, you get to on carry on the story of Aiden and Dawn and I won’t say too much as its very sweet, you also get to watch Kade’s discovery of her sexuality and coming to terms with being bi sexual, and finding love. The book had plenty of action and so much going on.
It says the book is 15hrs and 11 minutes long, but the last hour is actually book 3 in the series Change of Pace, which was a wonderful surprise.
The only negative for me was I would have liked a better or more detailed ending with regards to Kade’s story as it wasn’t explained very well. But Aiden and Dawn I was happy with their ending.
The book was brilliant and the narration was superb as always with Abby Craden.
