About this listen

They came to earth—Pestilence, War, Famine, Death—four horsemen riding their screaming steeds, racing to the corners of the world. Four horsemen with the power to destroy all of humanity. They came to earth, and they came to end us all.

When Pestilence comes for Sara Burn’s town, one thing is certain: everyone she knows and loves is marked for death. Unless, of course, the angelic-looking horseman is stopped, which is exactly what Sara has in mind when she shoots the unholy beast off his steed.

Too bad no one told her Pestilence can’t be killed.

Now the horseman, very much alive and very pissed off, has taken her prisoner, and he’s eager to make her suffer. Only, the longer she’s with him, the more uncertain she is about his true feelings towards her, and hers towards him.

And now, well, Sara might still be able to save the world, but in order to do so, she'll have to sacrifice her heart in the process.

Beautiful

Give me a second to collect my emotions.

ಥ‿ಥ

This was freaking beautiful. I even cried.
I so recommend this. I’m actually really interested in getting the book. I need this in my collection.
If this ever gets turned into a tv series or manga or movie, I’m so gonna watch it.

The only thing I would have loved even more was if we could have gotten his perspective in the story. What went trough his brain the first time he tasted food or all the other things, like the staking.
That would have been interesting.

Everything

Love is all I can say. This book is incredible. Enemies to lovers. Hate to love, possessive man and strong willed female character.

Very intriguing

The story, the characters and the setting - it's a pretty interesting concept to begin with. Laura takes these promising ingredients, marinates them with a huge dose of awesome before cooking them like a boss, and the end result is the most amazing dish I didn't even knew I favored. Now I do. I've read this book countless times, and now I've listened to it as well. The narrator does a very fine job.

Brutal, Sweet, Romantic, world ending

This is one of those stories that skirts the line between Paranormal romance and apocalyptic adventure. Generally you can tell a story PNR because without the love story the plot falls apart but this one... well I think it still stand on its own two feet. I The story Is Brutal in places, revealing the worst of human Nature and its tender and redemptive in others. a slow burn enemies to Lovers romance and while the "spice" is extra hot in places, it more than balances things out by giving us a whole lot more than just a romance.
Beautifully Narrated

I was unsure at first.. but!!!!

I can't believe I forgot to write a review for this book.. I do think this book was quite drawn out but if I was reading it instead of listening to the book I may have thought differently..I like the narrator... The story was well written as I was unsure how a romance could be put into the four Horsemen but Laura Thalassa managed it....Just found War so lets hope its just as good or better...xx

Is it ok to enjoy Stockholm syndrome stories?

Did listen to this story a few months ago. Still enjoy reading cross reviews about it.

Listening to this story was an experience like no other. I felt wary the whole time and still enjoyed it. That there is a reason enough for me to recommend the book. It takes a good author and a good story to do that to you.

Listening to a story where the heroine sounds sound of mind and kind of kick ass in the beginning, and then falls in love with the mass murderer of the human race and she did begin the book trying to kill. And that love saves the human race from him at least? It sounds lame. Thanks to Laura Thalassa the story is far from it though. I have no idea how she does it. Might have something to do with the recurring idea of free will of the human race and the lack of it by other beings made by the god of the Bible. And I really enjoy mythical anything that makes me think about these things.

Love the inner monologue

I loved the main characters inner monologue, funny yet not overly comedic. Definitely on the darker side so if that isn’t your thing reader beware. I enjoyed it though.

Good Story

I have read this book several times and now listened to the audio in preparation for the forth book due for release soon. I loved the characters and their relationship build up, the battle of emotions from both Sarah and Pestilence. it is a good read.
