Summary

Tartarus is a dangerous place, every child knows that. But when a new soul finds his way there with no memories and no name, he gets to learn the harsh truth firsthand. Who is he? Why is he there? Why are entities beyond his understanding taking a personal interest in him? And why does everyone have a level? He doesn't know, but he's going to find out, even if it kills him.

Heavily inspired by Greek Mythology, Project Tartarus is a gripping tale of LitRPG fantasy and adventure. Featuring a found-family cast of characters who work to forge a shining light of hope in a cruel, dark world. This Sword & Sorcery story has elements of horror, romance, and striking imagery, but is also a story of courage and fighting for ones friends against all odds.

a interesting introduction the the genre

This was my first Time trying a lite RPG book. all in all it is a good book, I enjoyed the characters and the story as it panned out, I just was not sold on the RPG game stat elements being addressed, I am not sure if this is standard for this genre or not.

The characters all had depth that had been greatly interesting and made you want to listen more to see how it would progress, the main character had flaws rather than just being a all powerful character which grounded him and made him more enjoyable and relatable as a main RPG character. The world is set up great and has deep lore seeming to be in place, but it felt a little pulled away from when it become apparent everyone was also using skills and stats to do things.

all that aside it was a great book, and made me wish there was a game that was like this story so I could play it and experience the levelling system that it had, i look forward to the next book when it arrives.

Gets better as it goes

Starts of a bit rough, far too many stat checks and a narrator who takes a bit of getting used too. Saying that the story is good, if a bit slow, the characters are interesting, the MC is a little confusing. But the whole thing has potential. I'll be watching for book 2
