Summary

This is a completely updated edition of the 1983 classic that introduced a powerful method for gaining freedom from self-defeating behaviors and beliefs. Rick Carson, creator of the renowned Gremlin-Tamin Method, has revised the book to include fresh interactive activities, real-life vignettes we can all identify with, and new loathsome gremlins ripe for taming. Carson blends his laid-back style, Taoist wisdom, the Zen Theory of Change, and sound psychology in an easy-to-understand, unique, and practical system for banishing the nemesis within. Among the things you will learn are:

  • Techniques for getting a sliver of light between the natural you and the monster of your mind.
  • The extraordinary power of simply noticing and playing with options.
  • Six keys to maintaining emotional balance amid upheaval.

You gotta love Rick Carson

This book is read by the author, he has one of those voices! Funny, soothing and educational at the same time. There have been a few moments during this download where I have had an OMG revelation about my thought processes, and have changed aspects of my life accordingly.
Worth a credit if you're looking to understand yourself and change your patterns.
I would love a workbook to help me with the exercises.

Repetitive drivel

This goes on and on and on about the same point, it's written for an American audience, chapter 6 was patronising it used the word don't over 50 times, don't drink coffee after 3 etc. This book is written for the 70s and 80s when the workforce needed to deal with the mundane without question, in the modern workplace it aims to suck the emotion out of you! I had to read this as part of a course and hated every minute of it.
