About this listen
Go to the big city. Hang out with the bigwigs. Have fun.
That was the plan, right? Right! Except, our hero was supposed to be the guest of honor and the mob was not supposed to be invited.
Daniel was running out of places to lay low, however. Something needed to be done, or he’d be caught in the ever-tightening net of his pursuers.
Good thing the capital was right there, beckoning with a promising and permanent solution to his predicaments. Now, things would start looking up. The place surely wasn’t called the Cradle of Hope for nothing.

The story itself is fun, the author plays the Bard dynamic well and the performances really help everything be extra clear. Jump on in.

Throughout the whole series the sound editing putting in the violin pieces really adds to the entire theme of following a bard through his exploits.
As for the story, we continue Archangelo's time in the world of chains, our morally gray protagonist really pushes to new heights along with his companions. New and old characters add interesting mixes throughout the whole series as well as this book.
SoundBooth Theater knock it out of the park once more. Justin, Jeff and Laurie are a delight to listen to, Justin's deep tones during the narration punctuated with Laurie's rendition of the Kobold Arok never fails to put a smile on my face. Likewise the ever present bromance between Archangelo and Gilliam which is heightened by the skill and chemistry of both Justin and Jeff respectively.
I highly reccomend this book and the rest of the series. I cant wait for the last two books to be released.
Ok so... I may be a little biased...
