Enjoyable, easy listen. Not sure that "There you go" when offering a cup of tea was a 1920s expression, and would a cafe actually serve bacon sabdwiches mid-afternoon in that era? Al in all a good yarn.

Apart from a few rare exceptions I've yet to find female novelists who can't resist filling up pages with descriptive irrelevancies. Jessica Fellowes is no exception. However on the whole an interesting whodunit excellently narrated.

I would highly recommend this book if you love recent historical fiction. A great plot with enough red herrings to have me completely fooled. A nice easy read with great characters. I'll definitely be looking out the second book in the series!

At first I wasn’t sure what was fact or fiction but, actually it didn’t matter. This story was well told and it’s intensity kept me interested and it saw me through many a sleepless night, not keeping me awake as such but making insomnia quite bearable. I highly recommend you stick with it till the end and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

An exciting detective story set at the end of WW1 and in the household of the Mitford sisters. You get a wonderful sense of the era and the addition of fictional and real characters adds to the excitement. A superb narrator.
