Until a chance encounter shatters her world.
Sixteen years ago, Jenny survived a traumatic ordeal that left her best friend, Susie, missing and presumed dead. The world has its theories about what happened to Susie Patterson, and one of those theories points the finger at Jenny.
Now she lives a quiet life, volunteering at a crisis helpline while trying to deal with her own anxiety and the true crime fans obsessed with finding her missing friend. Then, on the way to her usual shift, Jenny is certain she sees Susie sitting in coach D.
But will anyone believe her?
Seeing Susie plunges Jenny back into a nightmare of forgotten memories and haunting fears. As the past claws its way into her present, she must unravel the truth about what happened sixteen years ago.
But the deeper she digs, the more she realises that some secrets are better left buried.

Absolutely brilliant!
What an amazing author.
It’s so refreshing to listen to an audiobook with a very different storyline.
No spoilers here but I highly recommend this novel.
Not sure how the author can get any better than this.

Brilliant story. Never lost its excitement

Twisty story line so keeps page turning
Unusual plot with very relatable characters, especially Jenny the lead character / well read / absorbing and interesting. Keeps you listening and interested .

Mmmmm......
Sometimes a story can have too many words. Seems ridiculous thing to say I know. But this was exhausting to listen to. Narrator was very good.

To many
Way too many, “he says” “she says” “I say” throughout the book. Most of the time it was obvious who was saying what, especially at the beginning of the book, I’ve never listened to a book before with so many “he says” “she says” it ruined the book for me.

I have enjoyed alot of Sarah's books. I can't quite decide if I liked this or not. very slow going at first, then confused in the middle, then strange at the end. I liked the idea of the story but probably wouldn't recommend. I liked the narrators voice, but everyone's voices were the same she didn't really do multiple characters well.
