Another out of the park performance from John Lane and Maxine Mitchell. They are just the best.

Is it a good idea to move in with the guy you're crushing on? Probably not. Is it a good idea to let the girl you're crushing on move into your house when you need a new roommate? Again, probably not.

Chase Donner has turned his life around. He severed his time. Made his amends. Built himself a good life with his found family. But he's still feels a bit like the odd man out.

Hannah Gallagher, a recent import to the town from Toronto. Occifer Cinnamon to Chase. An only child with a past trauma that she still struggles with.

It turns out it actually is! In the best possible way. Chase and Hannah are just the perfect match.

The central theme to this story and the series in general is family. Whether it is birth, extended, or found. Family in all its guises is proudly front and centre.

Melanie Moreland never disappoints! Every book packed with chemistry and action, I delve in knowing I am going to love it! Chase works for Reynolds Restoration. Needing a roommate, he posts and ad and Hannah answers it. Little does he know the police officer he has a secret crush on would be knocking on his door wanting that extra room. From the start, these two had that feel of forever. But in true Moreland fashion, she doesn't make anything easy! Twists and turns, and the most unsuspecting person ends up creating havoc! Will it be enough to pull these two apart? I love this friends to lovers, opposites attract story and now, I have to go back and listen to the first 3 in the series. Yes, they all stand alone, but I need to catch up on this fabulous author!

Maxine Mitchell and John Lane are fabulous together every time they record and this one is perfect! I love their characters, the way they present them, Lane with a warmth in his voice that I can't help but melt under, and then in the next breath the angry boyfriend and then Mitchell with a confidence in herself that wanes and grows. Each one finds their stride and creates that real person that I feel I know. Fantastic performances and a wonderful listen are in store for you when you grab this one!

A great story from one of my favourite characters. I love the family dynamics in this series. The love and acceptance is beautiful. Chase finally gets his occifer cinnamon. This book had everything from drama, angst and love. Awesome narration too
