About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

NOW THE NO.1 DRAMA IN THE HISTORY OF AppleTV+, SILO.

In a ruined and hostile landscape, in a future few have been unlucky enough to survive, a community exists in a giant underground silo.

Inside, men and women live an enclosed life full of rules and regulations, of secrets and lies.

To live, you must follow the rules. But some don't. These are the dangerous ones; these are the people who dare to hope and dream, and who infect others with their optimism.

Their punishment is simple and deadly. They are allowed outside.

Jules is one of these people. She may well be the last.

Picked up after watching the Apple TV show, and definitely an enjoyable read although I can understand why changes were made for the show- some section drag a bit and some choices feel undeserved. Still worth the listen.

Great story and it got the imagination going almost thought provoking. BUT was a little tough going with a little to much detail when just wanted to find out what happened. I would recommend 😁

Great story

Wanted to keep on going even after it was finished, starting the next in this series straight away! Great book lots of twists and turns along the way. Very much enjoyed.

It's an interesting story and well written, even better read. But it's very bleak. As intruguing as the universe of the silo is I won't be reading anymore, this one was depressing enough

Depressing but well structured and read

What did you like most about Wool?

This is a book that I have found compulsive to listen to. It is a long time since I have found such an enthralling distopian tale, full of psychological twists and turns and not afraind to kill off main characters when the story needs direction.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lucas full of dreams and love and hope.

What does Susannah Harker bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Her easy voice made the book come to life.

Unable to stop listening

If you could sum up Wool in three words, what would they be?

Amazing. Thought provoking

Who was your favorite character and why?

Juliet. She has the courage of a lion

What does Susannah Harker bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

its almost has if its really happening

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

no

Any additional comments?

not a book I would normally have chosen. But it is really very enthralling. No question , get it, listen to it

mind boggeling

If you could sum up Wool in three words, what would they be?

Believable , claustrophobic , gripping

What other book might you compare Wool to, and why?

Honestly haven't read any books that make science fiction so believable , I am not a huge fan of sci fi and I brought this book on a whim , so glad I did now as have listened to and read all three of the trilogy several times now

What does Susannah Harker bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Really gentle reading , such a cool moderated voice that it slows the pace down beautifully

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Brilliant

This audiobook is one of the best I've listened to. The narrator is perfect and actually made me look up the other books she's narrated. And then the book itself, wow! It was very well written, engaging and fascinating. I had promised myself only to listen to it while walking, and it made me walk for more than two hours per day just so I could keep listening. I am very much looking forward to hear book 2 and 3 in this trilogy.

Brilliant, really!

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Had heard some hype and so was unsure but it lives up to it. The idea of the cleaners is great and some of the plot twists surprised me. I have read a few post apocalypse type novels and this stands out as one of the best. Looking forward to the next one. (Shift).

A fantastic idea!
