About this listen
Are you truly taking care of yourself? Or are you too busy taking care of everyone else?
So many of us find it easier to love other people than to love ourselves. We struggle to put our own needs first and have a hard time asking for what we want let alone going after it. Instead, we attach ourselves to selfish people trying over and over to win love from those who simply can’t offer it.
If that sounds familiar, you may be the victim of narcissistic abuse. In A Cult of One, Richard Grannon exposes the insidious effects of narcissistic abuse and shares his own winding road to recognition and recovery. Through martial arts, mysticism, psychedelics, and psychology spanning over four continents and 44 years of life, Grannon discovered a systematic discipline for healing. Join him as he explains step-by-step with courage, humor, and optimism how to forge your own path to a better life.

Humility, relatability & humorous to the end!
I devoured this [audio] book in practically one sitting… Richard’s writing style is engaging, his voice narrating is, to me, soothing & comforting. The stories he shares with humility and, at certain points, humour plus his relatable metaphors and analogies make his methods accessible and inspiring; so much so, that I “re-read” this book again, all in one go, as soon as I finished, a couple more times, so as to really take in and absorb the experiential wisdom that his words offer.
The vulnerability he has in sharing some of his influential life moments was evidently apparent! He’s clearly authentic in his work to help other people recover from CPTSD.
I humbly thank you and salute you for all your work is doing for my recovery.

Richard's honesty and authenticity
I liken Richard's content to a loving but firm parent. When we grow up in a toxic environment then go into adult life as wounded children we usually end up back in similar patterns. Until we wake up, accept and learn about ourselves we will probably repeat old patterns. Healing takes years, a life time of work and exploration. Richard's book has given me guidance and encouragement. To heal the wounded self you must become the parent you weren't given. Like Richard says be kind with yourself. Have patience and develop compassion for yourself and others, true compassion. Many thanks Richard, I wish him more healing and to others too.

Richard is a wonderful man and psychologist
Loved it. I wish I could meet Richard Grannon live and listen to him more. I went through hell with narcissistic men too. I had no idea about narcissism and when I realised what was going on, too much damage had been done. My life is ruined, I try to survive. But there is little consolation, so I hear Richard also say

Interesting, Informative and humerous
Too often, books attempting to relay the reality of human psychological issues are too dry and academic. Richard Grannon has made what is a serious subject entertaining through his willingness to share his traumatic life story in a light hearted yet hopeful way. I have gained a lot of perspective on my own experiences through listening to this excellent book.

Superb!
A great read, I learned alot about myself and others. The writer effectively and concisely returns to key points throughout the book so the reader can keep up with and start to consciously use the psychological material that is being outlined. The writer includes open and honest story telling from his own experience which I thought brought candour and humor to his work. Fantastic and thank you for writing.

Practically empowering
I have been following RG for a long time, on YouTube mostly. This book was a thoughtful blend of personal history and lessons learned along with referenced wisdom and practical guidance on how to nurture oneself to wholeness. I recommend to anyone on a journey of personal development.

200% Awesome!
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in Richards company throughout this book, a very real, heartfelt and truly inspiring work. When we experience people in our lives that exhibit narcissism, codependency, or related traits thereof, our once seemingly rational reactions can often make us feel like we’re genuinely loosing our marbles! This book made much of the academic text I’ve read come to life and as a result made me feel marginally sane again. Richards dulcet tones didn’t hurt too much either!! Thank you for what you do.

Fascinating and easy to liste to
Richard I'm only halfway through your book and wanted to say how superb it is so far. As a late 30s British male who previously considered himself to be a happy confident person, on my recovery from a super toxic 4 year relationship with a narcissist, this is helping me immensely. Thank you.

I related to this Very Much
I wasn’t sure what to expect I’ve listened to quite a few audio books, but Richards story, advice and understanding of something I’ve always had trouble explaining to others, made this a very emotional but very needed book to listen to.
Thank you Richard, I’ve always blamed myself not realising about narcissists and the impact my relationships have had, mainly on my mental health, I learnt to fawn and freeze at a very young age in hope it would keep me safe, sadly I chose the wrong paths and the wrong people to go down them with. Thank you Richard for making many things much clearer as I continue to try to get myself on a much less destructive path in life. I hope you’re path is now a much happier one :-)
