About this listen

The first book in an irresistible duet by the globally bestselling author of the Bridgerton series. If you loved Bridgerton, you'll adore the Lyndon Sisters . . .

Eleanor Lyndon was minding her own business when a lord of the realm fell—quite literally—into her life. When Charles Wycombe, the dashing and incorrigible Earl of Billington, toppled out of a tree and landed at Ellie's feet, neither suspected that such an inauspicious meeting would lead to marriage. But Charles must find a bride before his thirtieth birthday or he'll lose his fortune. And Ellie needs a husband or her father's odious fiancée will choose one for her. And so they agree to wed.

Ellie never dreamed she'd marry a stranger, especially one with such a devastating combination of rakish charm and debonair wit. She tries to keep him at arm's length, at least until she discovers the man beneath the handsome surface. But Charles can be quite persuasive—even tender—when he puts his mind to it, and Ellie finds herself slipping under his seductive spell. And as one kiss leads to another, this unlikely pair discovers that their marriage is not so inconvenient after all...and just might lead to love.

Having read most of Julia’s books I usually love the sprinkling of the spicer scenes. Unfortunately they just left me feeling a little uncomfortable at times. I’ve already read the second book in this series and would 100% recommend it. This one just didn’t feel up to her usual standard.

Disappointed

Loved this book. Caroline Trent is one of my favourite Julia Quinn heroine’s. Such a fun story with a satisfying ending. Amazing side characters, such a shame that James, Marquess of Riverdale ended up with such an annoying partner, but that’s a different story!

10/10-would highly recommend

A very enjoyable and entertaining audiobook. I had to giggle a few times and especially enjoyed the interaction between the characters. Very amusing!
Great performance (as always!) by Ms. Landor. Ok… on to the next one in the series.

Great audio book 🤩

There wasn’t enough going on in the plot until the last 20 mins. The banter between the two main characters was awfully boring after a while, quite irritating in fact. Usually enjoy Julia Quinn so I’m sad that this was so bad.

Boring
