About this listen
This is a world divided by blood--red or silver.
The Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of godlike superpowers. And to Mare Barrow, a 17-year-old Red girl from the poverty-stricken Stilts, it seems like nothing will ever change.
That is until she finds herself working in the Silver Palace. Here, surrounded by the people she hates the most, Mare discovers that despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. One that threatens to destroy the balance of power.
Fearful of Mare's potential, the Silvers hide her in plain view, declaring her a long-lost Silver princess, now engaged to a Silver prince. Despite knowing that one misstep would mean her death, Mare works silently to help the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, and bring down the Silver regime.
But this is a world of betrayal and lies, and Mare has entered a dangerous dance--Reds against Silvers, prince against prince, and Mare against her own heart...

Would you listen to Red Queen again? Why?
Yes, because I'm sure that it could keep me entertained again.Any additional comments?
Being born a red meant that you were born a sub-citizen, a lesser being than the elite silvers with all of their powers and riches. Mare Barrow knows who she is, and where she’s headed, well that is until a freak turn of events put her in front of the silver court, demonstrating a power equal to that of any red. Mare’s world quickly turns more dangerous than she could have imagined, and she had imagined plenty of dangers throughout her life. Knowing who to trust is the hardest lesson she will have to learn, and watching those she loves die around her only strengthens her resolve; the reds must win.The story starts at a simple pace only to increase to an intense action-packed plot. It is reminiscent of The Hunger Games with a dystopian world where equality is a thing of the past. Mare is a strong character who gets knocked down countless times only to rise up once more, but she isn’t particularly introspective, and you only get a brief glimpse into the real workings of her mind. It reads like it should be a film (and it will be soon), and this is not a bad thing.
I’m giving the book a five-star rating, but if I was to choose something that I change about it then it would be to add a little more romantic detail on the love triangle with the princes. I guess I’ll just have to read the next book in the series.
Epic dystopian fantasy
