About this listen

DISCOVER THE MOST UNPUTDOWNABLE PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER OF THE YEAR. WINNER OF THE JOFFE BOOKS PRIZE 2023.

Love thy neighbour. Fear thy neighbour.

I thought moving to this quiet cul-de-sac was the fresh start my husband and I needed, escaping the noise of our cramped flat in Hounslow. I left India and all that was familiar for a new life with him in England.

But my husband works all hours, leaving me alone in a house that doesn’t feel like a home.

Our neighbours notice the bruises on my arms. They draw the obvious conclusions.

They seem kind, but they’re hiding something.

I just can’t shake the feeling that someone is always watching me . . . waiting.

My husband’s working late. Again. That’s when I see it.

A face pressed to the glass.

A hand waving.

It couldn’t be. Could it?

This utterly gripping and unputdownable psychological thriller full of shocking twists is perfect for fans of Steena Holmes, Freida McFadden, E.V. Seymour, Dandy Smith, Sonya Bateman or Nicole Trope.

Great performance by all 3 narrators, storyline had too many holes for me though

Stellar narration but the story was pretty weak in places. I did listen to the end though!

I liked the different character stories

I felt too much time was spent on shepna (who I found a little annoying at times) and not enough on building the other characters. I enjoyed the little twists and it was something different to read. I would like to see the author develop so I will read more titles

The Neighbours

Absolutely loved every character. The twist and turns were excellent. Wanted the story to go on forever.

I really enjoyed this book. It kept me guessing and a nice ending. Interesting and likeable characters.

Interesting, but not compelling

This is a good story which I enjoyed, however, I was disappointed that it did not live up to the reviews. There are twists and turns, but it is not earth shattering.

Fabulous

Absolutely loved the story line. Thought it was great how all the characters were interwoven. I really like the fact that each chapter was from a different characters perception. Great book. The narrater was great too especially the different languages she did. I think a narrater can make or break a book you are listening too. This one made the book!

A good listen

This story was very enjoyable. The characters were believable due to a great description. I especially liked Edith despite her murderous ways albeit getting rid of despicable characters. Great narration and a great free listen.

Still unsure

I really wasn't sure whether to stick with this story, it was very slow to get going. I am trying to expand my genres so persevere. It has some surprises and twists in the 2nd half. Generally good narration however struggled a bit with 'Edith' even though I have really enjoyed previous books read by the same narrator. I wouldn't listen again but glad I saw it through to to the end

Anti climatic ending

Accents were laugh out loud and unnecessary. The story was ok but nothing groundbreaking. It killed some time
